It is hard to believe that Memorial Day Weekend is only in a few short days! This Patriotic Paper Straw Bracelet is a cheap and easy craft that would be fun for the kids over the long holiday weekend. You probably have most of the supplies at home already or just need to make a quick trip to the dollar store.
We made these fun bracelets a couple of years ago during 4th of July. It’s a simple craft that is great for kids of all ages!

Supply Tray for Patriotic Bracelet Craft
When you get ready to set up a craft like this, it helps to stay organized by using a divided tray. I picked up a chip and dip tray at Dollar Tree several years ago. This tray works so great for craft projects!
I went through our craft stash first. I wanted to see what supplies we already had that could work for this easy craft idea. We looked for beads, ribbon, and buttons that would go along with a patriotic theme.
I had already picked up the paper straws at Dollar Tree. They looked like such a fun item to use for a patriotic craft. You will have to cute those into pieces. It is up to you what size you want to use. I cut ours into approximately one inch pieces.
Here is a list of supplies we used to create these paper straw bracelets.
- Paper Straws (cut into 1 inch pieces)
- Ribbon
- Buttons
- Beads
Once you have the supplies gathered, either organize them in a tray or just have everything laid out on table. Let the kids design their own bracelet using the supplies.
This is the perfect craft for a group of kids. I would highly recommend this project for a summer camp. We did a whole week of patriotic crafts during our DIY Summer Camp.
Easy Patriotic Bracelet Craft for Kids
This is such a cute craft! If you aren’t into the patriotic colors, any color scheme would work. This would also be fun for any holiday. I would love to do something similar again for a Valentine’s Day Party!
