Are you looking for ways to have a fun summer with your kids? The cost of summer camps can get pretty expensive! Plus who wants to be on a schedule during the summer? The idea behind a DIY Summer Camp is to be flexible, plan some fun activities and outings, and have some different themed weeks. The themes are what make this a success! Brainstorm with your kids on what they would like to do. What are they passionate about?
Here are some fun themes to get you started! We did seven different weeks last year. This year we are probably cutting it back to five. I realized that we ended up with plenty to do since we also do family vacations, summer dollar movies, pool time and Vacation Bible School. I also realized that I can plan even more fun things for us if I keep it simple. I’m currently saving up Ibotta earnings and credit card rewards to purchase some fun activity kits to go along with the themes too. Click on the themes below to see what we came up with for each week last year. I’m also including some cool products to go along with each of them. Be sure to check back since I’ll add to this as we work through our 2019 themes….I’ve got some really fun stuff planned!
