Happy February! If you are looking for a way to encourage your kids to read this month, pick out some fun books to read with them to celebrate Valentine’s Day. I’ve put together a list of some fun Valentine Chapter Books that are great for early readers.

Valentine Themed Reading Area

One of the ways I have encouraged my kids to read is to change out our reading nook with seasonal books. We have our own collection and we also love getting different ones from our local library.

Valentine's Day Reading Corner

I try to add a holiday themed blanket and maybe a pillow or stuffed animal to decorate the reading nook too. You can also add great themed lights like the heart stringed lights pictured above.

If you already have a favorite book series, check to see if there is already a Valentine’s Day themed book in that series. My Weird School and Junie B. Jones are a couple of our favorites that have included a Valentine themed book.

Here are some great books we discovered when we started looking for Valentine’s Day themed books. These chapter books are for early readers and geared toward elementary school children.

Junie B. Jones and the Mushy Gushy Valentime by Barbara Park

A to Z Mysteries Super Edition #8: Secret Admirer by Ron Roy

Cam Jansen and the Valentine Baby Mystery by David A. Adler

Valentine’s Day Disaster by Geronimo Stilton

Super-Secret Valentine by Abby Klein

Valentine’s Day Secret by Carolyn Keene

Oh, Valentine, We’ve Lost Our Minds! by Dan Gutman

Candy Kisses by JoJo Siwa

Nate the Great and the Mushy Valentine by Marjorie Weinman Sharmat

As you can see there is a lot of variety on this list. Whether your child is interested in mysteries or silly stories, there is something for everyone! Be sure to also check out the full list of Winter Themed Books for Kids of All Ages.

If you have any book recommendations for us, please feel free to let me know. I love to hear what other families enjoy reading and we are always looking for new books to add to our library list.
