We wrapped up Sports Week of our second annual DIY Summer Camp on Friday. What a fun week it was! I actually tried to relax a little and let the kids lead this one. Of course I made suggestions and we had to use the supplies I had already purchased. They have great ideas too though. I think you’ll enjoy these Sports Week Crafts and Activities.

Easy Sports Themed Crafts

Sports Week Pennant Craft

Make it Monday was full of easy crafts! I had found these pennants in the Target Dollar Spot a few weeks ago and knew they would make a great craft for Sports Week! I pulled out my sticker stash and let the kids decorate them.

Once they finished the pennants, we made these cute Sports Themed Paper Plate Wreaths. You know this is my favorite craft for all the holidays! They used Kwik Stix Paint and foam sports stickers to make this super easy project.

Sports Themed Snack Ideas

Baseball Pizza

This baseball pizza couldn’t get any easier! I had stocked up on frozen cheese pizzas when they were on sale recently. All we did was add pepperoni to make a baseball design. It was so simple and the kids loved it!

Kids in the Kitchen

We couldn’t let the week go by without a sweet treat! The kids love making cookies. We used refrigerated cookie dough so this couldn’t have been easier.

football chocolate chip cookies

They rolled out the dough and used a football shaped cookie cutter to form the cookies. You could really just shape the dough into ovals if you don’t have a cutter that would work. Once the cookies were cooled, I added the football design with a tube of white frosting.

Balloon Tennis Activity

Balloon Tennis

Balloon Tennis is a great activity for kids! They can get creative while decorating their paper plate rackets. Then they can get active by playing this fun game together.

Dollar Tree Sports Finds

Dollar Tree Sports Finds

It is not secret that we love the Dollar Tree! They have so many fun things for summer fun. We were even able to find sports themed plates to use for the week. Here are some of our favorite sports themed toys from Dollar Tree.

  • Baseball Sets
  • Foam Footballs
  • Baseball Base Set
  • Plastic Baseballs
  • Mini Basketball Sets
  • Finger Sports Game Sets

During Sports Week, the kids had a blast playing with some of these items. Their favorite activity was using the bases for a kickball game in the backyard with neighbor kids. I had a couple of activities planned but this is where I was able to take a step back and just let them do their own thing. It was great for all of us!

Let’s Go Bowling

Bowling Family Activity

Take a Trip Thursday did not disappoint this week! We decided it would be fun to go bowling. I wasn’t sure how it would go since Graylie had never bowled before. We used the gutter guards and she used a bowling ramp. It ended up being so much fun and she won both games!

Pool Basketball with Friends

Pool Basketball

We wrapped up the week at the pool with some of our friends! I found this giant inflatable basketball game on Amazon. I had no idea it would be so big and it did take me some time to blow it up. The kids had a blast with it though. When they got tired of throwing the basketball at it, they used it for boat rides in the pool.

Sports Week was even more fun than I thought it would be! The summer seems to be flying by and I can’t believe it is already July. We are just starting Patriotic Week of our summer camp at home. If you love celebrating 4th of July, you will want to stay tuned for all the fun planned for this week!
