We just finished celebrating Gavin’s 10th birthday over the weekend! We may have splurged a little this year on parties. I mean turning 5 and 10 are pretty big birthdays and I wanted to make a big deal of it. These parties have also been super easy to plan. Graylie’s was at an art studio and Gavin requested a Game Truck Party! If you have a boy who enjoys video games, this is the party for you.

Simple Party Prep

Like I said this party was super easy on me! I reserved the game truck online a few weeks prior to the party. Once I had the date, I emailed the parents of Gavin’s buddies the invitation. Game Truck actually provides a few options you can download. He had been to a few of these game truck parties so we knew what to expect.

Game Truck Party Supplies

I ordered the party supplies from Amazon. It was a kit that is currently out of stock so it must be pretty popular. It had the cups, plates, silverware, tablecloth and banner. I also found this awesome game controller balloon at Party City!

On the day of the party, the game truck arrived about 15 minutes before the party started. Gavin let the party attendent know which games he was most interested in playing. We were also able to completely remove any violent games from their selections.

The boys were able to play video games for an hour and a half. They were in heaven. The truck is a Mobile Game Theater with nice comfy chairs and big screens. His favorite game right now is Super Smash Bros. I think they played a lot of that one!

Party Food and Favors

Walking Tacos Party Food

While they were playing in the game truck, I was able to get the food ready for them! I knew they would be hungry once they came out. Gavin requested pizza and walking tacos. Again I was blessed with super easy options!

Video Game Party Favors

I actually used some of the party cups to create the party favors for the boys. I had ordered a variety pack from Amazon of stickers, pins, and bracelets. I thought they would be more generic but they ended up being all Fortnite. That is a pretty popular game right now so I think it ended up working out. I just divided out those items into the cups and tied them up in a clear cellophane bag.

This was an easy party and the kids had a blast! We kept our decorations more generic and the theme was Game On! You could also do a Game Truck Party with other fun themes and center it around your child’s most favorite video game. Here are some awesome ideas for you!

Super Mario Bros Party Ideas

This would have probably been on the top of our list for themes! What kid doesn’t enjoy at least one of the Super Mario Bros. games?

Minecraft Party Ideas

Minecraft is another favorite at our house! Both kids were really into it until just recently. They have moved on to Roblox at the moment. I’m sure we’ll be back to Minecraft soon enough though.

I know there are lots more themes that I haven’t touched on! The one thing I have learned now after 10 years of parties is to keep it as simple as possible. Do the things that you enjoy! If you love to bake, create amazing themed cupcakes. If you are more into DIY, go for those adorable decorations you can make with your Cricut. Don’t worry if that is not your thing though. Kids just love a good party…..grocery store cupcakes and delivery pizza included! 🙂
