Do you celebrate Valentine’s Day? I enjoy doing little things to make it special for my kids. They get into all the treats and decor. So setting up this Valentine Coffee and Hot Cocoa Bar was fun for all of us!
I have been wanting a coffee bar for years! Since crafting supplies were taking over my dining room, I was never able to have the space to do that. Over the holidays I had cleared out the dining room for our Christmas meals.
Once the space was clear, I could definitely envision my coffee bar! I purchased a few things to get it set up. This space has been well used ever since.

Valentine Coffee & Hot Cocoa Bar

I probably should have showed you the original Coffee Bar first! Since it’s almost Valentine’s Day though, we’ll just start with this. I will warn you that shopping for cute coffee bar items is so fun but addicting.
Coffee and Hot Cocoa Bar Essentials
Obviously, you will need some sort of coffee maker to have a Coffee and Hot Cocoa Bar. Since the kids love to make hot cocoa, I knew I wanted to include that function in our set up. I chose a Cuisinart Single-Serve Coffee Maker that also had a hot water option that is perfect for making hot chocolate.
Let me just stop and tell you how this coffee maker has changed my life! With the hot water option, I can make a cup of tea immediately. It is perfect for guests to make a cup of coffee whenever they want. The biggest deal is that my son can now make his own hot chocolate! He even makes it for his little sister too.

Once you have the coffee maker, you will also need mugs or disposable cups. I found a great set of Valentine mugs in the Target Dollar Spot. Each set of two mugs was only $5.00!
I found our fun mug tree at Home Goods. It is nice to have one that also has storage for tea bags and coffee pods. This is a cute one from Amazon that has the storage basket on top.
I just use a white bowl to store hot cocoa packets but a basket would be super cute! We also discovered hot cocoa single serve pods that make it even easier (and less messy) for the kids to do their own hot chocolate.

Fun Valentine Items for the Coffee Bar
To make this a festive Valentine Coffee Bar, I added a few inexpensive special touches. I found a little battery operated heart light strand at Dollar Tree. Then I painted a LOVE sign that I found there as well. I also added a handmade photo banner under our canvas prints.
For fun Valentine’s Day Hot Cocoa, you definitely need heart marshmallows. These look really cute stored in a glass jar. We found these items at Target along with some festive sprinkles.
I also found the little Valentine jar and heart tin in the Target dollar spot. The jar is perfect for holding sugar. Then I added a few pink spoons to the little tin with a little tea towel. I may also add a few paper napkins to the tin. It is great to have those handy to clean up any little messes.

This may be the most used space in our entire house now! It’s right next to our reading room so it’s the perfect location to grab a cup of tea, coffee, or hot cocoa.
If you are having a Valentine’s Day party, setting out some Valentine Hot Cocoa Sticks would be cute. There is also room here to add a few snacks if we were hosting a party or brunch.
