Easter is only one week away! I wanted to share a super easy craft idea with you today that would be perfect for preschoolers. This Tape Resist Easter Cross Craft is simple and mess free making it great for Sunday School classes or other groups.
We have done tape resist a few times before with acrylic paint. That is a lot of fun but can get a little messy. Plus it takes more time since the paint needs to be dry before completing the project. This time we used a different supply to make it quick and mess free.

Fun Supplies for Easter Craft
For this Easter craft, we used the new pastel colored Kwik Stix paint sticks! We love this craft supply. They are mess free and the colors are so vibrant! Plus the paint dries in 90 seconds and is completely washable.
In addition to the paint sticks, you will also need a small canvas panel and masking tape. Our canvas was a 5X7 size but you could use whatever size you prefer.
To prepare for this craft, create a cross on the canvas panel with the masking tape. That is the only setup this activity requires!
Mess Free Painting
Once you are ready to begin the craft, give the kids the canvas panel prepared with the masking tape and the paint sticks. Let them paint all over the canvas in any design they desire.
This craft is perfect for kids of all ages! Toddlers can scribble all over this canvas and it will still turn out beautiful. Older children may want to make a certain pattern or design.
Tape Resist Easter Cross Craft
Since this paint dries almost immediately, you will be able to pull the tape off a couple of minutes after the kids are finished painting. Talk about instant gratification!
The kids can even help pull off their own tape. They will love seeing this cross magically appear on their canvas.
This was our first time trying tape resist with paint sticks! I was so impressed by how well this worked. I’m sure we will be doing it again.
