Happy Hello Cards Made from Paper Scraps

A few weeks ago, I made a set of cards for the 52 Weeks of Pinterest Challenge. I used a technique to use up leftover paper scraps and items from scrapbooking kits. This makes it super easy since all the paper and embellishments already coordinate.

That was so much fun that I decided to work with another kit of scraps to make this Happy Hello Card Set. This time I used the leftovers from the Some Kinda Wonderful Collection by Close to My Heart that I scrapbooked with about a year ago. Some Kinda Wonderful Close to My Heart Kit

The kits from Close to My Heart are my favoites! They make it so easy to get multiple pages in my albums. This was such a versatile scrapbooking kit! I love all of the playful patterns and embellishments.

How to use paper scraps to make a card background.

To make the background for the cards, I used the same technique as before. I cut all the leftover papers into strips and adhered them to a piece of 12 X 12 cardstock with a tape runner.

Once I had the strips adhered to the cardstock, I was able to cut six different backgrounds. I used plain white notecards for this set. Using a tape runner, I attached the backgrounds to these cards.

Then I looked through the leftover embellishments from the kit to finish these cards. I also used a stamp set to add a few sentiments to the cards. These cards will be perfect for birthdays or just to say hello!

Can you believe how simple this technique is? I love pretty paper and can’t stand the thought of throwing any of it away. This is a fun and easy way to use all of those cute paper scraps.

Great suggestion. I make cards in quantity for a local charity and am always on the prowl for ideas that are economical & creative. I plan to go through my scrap box and get started!

I love how colorful and bright they all are. Pinned it to Pinterest for future reference.
