My daughter has been asking to decorate her room for Halloween. She had seen a craft sign last weekend while we were out shopping. I knew I had a stash from Dollar Tree that was much more affordable though. Sure enough I found a cute wooden sign for her to paint that I had picked up there last month for this fun Dollar Tree Halloween Door Hanger Craft.
This door hanger craft is great for kids who enjoy being creative! It would also be perfect for a Halloween Painting Party or Playdate. Dollar Tree has a variety of signs to choose from to keep this inexpensive.

Halloween Door Hanger Craft for Kids of All Ages
My daughter started this painting project with Kwik Stix paint sticks. I had originally thought we would use acrylic paint for the entire sign but this ended up working even better. She used the paint sticks for the letters and decorations.
The paint sticks dry super fast! So then she moved onto the background. She used the color Grape Taffy in an acrylic paint that we had on hand.
Once the paint was dry, she got out the pom poms. It was fun to decide what pattern to use around the edge of the sign. Then we used a glue gun to attach the pom poms as a border for the sign. This part turned out so cute!
Then we cut off the twine that was included with the door hanger. You could leave this part on and use it to hang your sign. I would suggest that if you are doing this with a large group. We used a few different ribbons to create a ribbon loop to hang her sign.
Dollar Tree Halloween Door Hanger Craft Project
This door hanger craft turned out to be so cute and fun! I think adults or teens would also enjoy a similar craft. My daughter is ten years old and seemed to be the perfect age for it.
