A Valentine Heart Banner is very simple to make. You only need a few basic tools and supplies. If you are already a paper crafter, you probably have everything you need including a stash of paper to choose from. I had picked my paper pack up a few years ago in the Target Dollar Spot. It was after the holiday, so I think it may have cost me fifty cents!
Simple Supply List for Heart Banner
Supplies needed:
- Paper Trimmer
- Scissors
- Hole Punch
- Ribbon scraps
- 12X12 paper
Cut each piece of paper into 6 X 6 squares.
Fold each square in half and free hand cut the hearts.
Punch a hole on each side of the heart.
Using these holes, tie each heart together with a small piece of ribbon.
Toddler Tip: Let your toddler or young children color and decorate the backs of all the hearts. This will keep them busy for at least 2 minutes while you work on some of the other pieces. 🙂
Easy DIY Valentine Decor
I hung our heart banner with a string of lights across our dining room window. It would also look cute in our reading nook!
This is a simple and fun craft for Valentine’s Day! We love having a little decor around for each holiday. An older child could definitely make this one on their own. If you have little ones, they would probably enjoying helping and decorating the hearts as well.
