Thanksgiving Chapter Books for Kids. Encourage early readers by providing seasonal books.

When Gavin started Elementary School and started learning to read, I was a little sad once we started gravitating away from picture books. I had enjoyed reading and discovering new books for the past six years. Now what? Then I discovered how much fun it was to read chapter books together!

Provide seasonal books to encourage reading.

I grew up with a love for reading and want my kids to have that too. One of the ways I encourage them to read is to change out our reading nook with seasonal books. We have our own collection and we also love getting different ones from our local library.

Here are some great books we discovered when we started looking for Thanksgiving books. These chapter books are for early readers and geared toward elementary school children.

I hope you find this list helpful! We are looking forward to reading a lot of these over the next few weeks. We have already read Dr. Carbles is Losing His Marbles and Thanksgiving Turkey Trouble. They were both very entertaining and will definitely have you laughing out loud.

If you have any book recommendations for us, please feel free to let us know! I love to hear what other families enjoy reading and we are always looking for new books to add to our library list! 🙂

Magic Treehouse has been one of our favorites for a couple of years now! I’m excited to read the Nancy Drew book since that was always one of my childhood favorites.

Oh thank you for this! We have the whole week of Thanksgiving off and I was just thinking that I needed to find a book or two to read with my 5 year old (he’s already reading!). I’ll take a look and pick one or two. Thanks!

I don’t think my niece and nephew are QUITE to chapter books yet, but I can’t wait. These are all great ideas. I think the Nancy Drew and Junie B. Jones titles look fun!!

Love this list. I need to add some more holiday titles to our home library. Trying to get any from the public library is so hard during the season. We went 3 weeks in advance and there were only scraps left. lol!

Yes, our library tends to get picked over too. We are able to put books on hold online and they will let us know when they are ready. That seems to help!
