It feels like Spring is finally here! Celebrate by doing this easy Spring Flower Recycled Cardboard Artwork with the kids this week. It is easy to do with supplies you already have at home.

The main supply is a cardboard box that you probably have sitting in the recycle bin already. We used a frozen waffles box but a cereal box would be perfect for this too.

This post does include affiliate links. That means I could earn a tiny portion of any sale that is made through clicking on any of these products with no additional cost to you. All support is greatly appreciated!

There is an opportunity for scissor skills with this craft. You could do this part before the craft begins or let your child help. It would also depend on the age of the child if this would be a good step for them.

I cut the flower shapes out myself but you could also draw the shapes with pencil for the child to cut out. They might also enjoy cutting out their own shapes!

Mess Free Crafting with Kwik Stix

You could use paint on the cardboard pieces but we used Kwik Stix paint sticks. We love this craft supply. They are mess free and the colors are so vibrant! Plus the paint dries in 90 seconds and is completely washable.

Once we had the shapes cut for this artwork, she colored them all with the Kwik Stix. Then she used the Kwik Stix on a piece of white cardstock to color the grass and the sky. Add in some sunshine or clouds if your child is interested in more details.

Once she was finished coloring the background, she used a glue stick to add in the cardboard flower pieces.

This turned out to be such a fun and simple art activity for spring! The cardboard gave the art texture and dimension.

For another spring flower craft, check out our cute Paper Plate Flowers! Those were inspired by a fun Pinkalicious book that would also work great with this craft. Egg Carton Flowers are also fun to make using recycled materials.
