Is it really Week 44 of the Pinterest Challenge? This year is flying by and will be over before we know it! Since Thanksgiving is quickly approaching, I wanted to share this cute Pine Cone Painting Turkey Craft.
We love process art especially when it involves painting. I was inspired by a Turkey Craft Pin from one of my favorite blogs Hello Wonderful. They do some pretty amazing crafts so you should check it out!

We started off by looking for pine cones in the backyard. Our yard is full of pine trees so this did not take long. Once we had a small bucket of pine cones, we brought them inside for our art project.
I gave each child an assortment of paint colors and let them paint all over a piece of white cardstock. They just dipped the pine cone into the paint and either rolled or blotted the paint onto the paper. Once they were done painting, we set their masterpieces to the side so they could dry.
Once the pine cone art was dry, I cut turkey feathers out of each of them. I had cut out two circles for each turkey. We glued one circle onto orange cardstock before adding the turkey feathers. Then we added the other circle on top of the feathers. The top circle was decorated as the turkey face by painting the little eyes and rosy cheeks. For the nose I cut out triangles that we painted blue. Then we glued those on with our glue sticks.
This turkey craft is so simple and cute! The turkeys are the perfect art project to hang on display for the month of November. We’re trying to embrace fall and enjoy this Thanksgiving season before we bust out the Christmas music and decorations.
