We are having a blast this week with our Olympics Theme for the DIY Summer Camp {Camp Mom}. This Olympic Ring Circle Painting project was an easy activity that we did yesterday. It is fun and great for kids of all ages.
It is Week 30 of the Pinterest Challenge and I’ve definitely been finding so many great ideas this summer. This project was inspired by a Dixie-Cup Olympic Artwork Pin. If you are looking for more ideas for themes, you should definitely check out my DIY Summer Camp Pinterest Board.

SUPPLIES
You only need a few supplies for this quick and easy project.
- Five Cardboard Tubes (We used a mix of paper towel and toilet paper rolls.)
- Acrylic Paint – Blue, Green, Yellow, Blue, and Red
- Paper Plate
- Paper or Canvas
SET UP
To set this project up, squirt paint of each color onto a paper plate. I used two paper plates for this so they could rotate. Set out the five different cardboard tubes. We used one tube for each color.
LET’S PAINT!
I gave a piece of paper and a plate of paint to each child. This would look really cool painted on a canvas too. They took turns with the colors painting the circles onto the paper. The cardboard tubes are the perfect painting tool for preschoolers.
These paintings turned out so cool! I love this combination of colors. You could really do this with any colors to go along with any theme or holiday. We have done something similar before using black paint and then watercoloring the shapes that the circle made. That was really pretty too and we turned that into gift wrap.
If you are thinking of doing an Olympics Theme, this painting project is a must! Be sure to check out our recap coming up in a few days. We’ll share all the fun activities and crafts we’ve been doing this week.
