Thanksgiving Chapter Books for Kids. Encourage early readers by providing seasonal books.When Gavin started Elementary School and started learning to read, I was a little sad once we started gravitating away from picture books. I had enjoyed reading and discovering new books for the past six years. Now what? Then I discovered how much fun it was to read chapter books together! I grew up with a love for reading and want my kids to have that too. One of the ways I encourage them to read is to change out our reading nook with seasonal books. It is that time of year again! School has been back in session for a few weeks and the anticipated book flyer for Scholastic Book Clubs showed up in our backpacks this week. We absolutely love scouring over all the images and books in these flyers. I wish I could get them every book in there. That is just not possible and I’m sure others feel the same way. What we’re reading in March

A couple of weeks ago, I pulled out all of our spring and Easter books from our storage closet. I try to rotate books in and out to keep things interesting. Creating a Reading Nook

I’ve always loved the idea of creating a reading nook for my kids. When we moved last summer, we had to rethink our play area. What would have been the playroom in our old house was now the first room you saw when you walked into the front door. I am still working on this area, but it has come a long way. I wish I had a before picture. One project that went into this room was a reading nook. I found an idea on Pinterest that I really liked.
