52 Weeks of Pinterest: Week 1 – Frozen Glitter Jars

Frozen Glitter Calm Down JarsIt is the first week of 2018. Can you believe it? I am still trying to get organized after traveling for the holidays. The decorations still need to be taken down. All the new toys need to be organized. It  will get done eventually!

This year I decided it would be fun to do a series called the 52 Weeks of Pinterest. The idea is to actually do one of the thousands of pins that I have saved on Pinterest each week. I’ll be honest. I spend a lot of time on Pinterest. I love it. I enjoy looking at all of it. If you look at my boards, you would think I was a gourmet chef who works out all the time with an immaculately decorated house. (more…)

Marshmallow Painting Pumpkin Craft

Painting Polka Dot Pumpkins with MarshmallowsIt seems like it may never turn fall here in North Carolina! It is making it hard for me to get into the spirit of putting out my decorations. We did have a very nice weekend a few weeks ago and painted some pumpkins. I thought it would be fun to do marshmallow painting on the pumpkins. Visions of perfectly painted polka dot pumpkins were in my head! :) (more…)

Circle Painting – Easy Craft for All Ages

Circle Painting is an easy craft for all ages

I am a huge fan of Instagram! I should have known that I would be. I am obsessed with pictures. Not only do I love looking at all the pictures, I love getting all the great ideas! There are a few accounts that I follow that do weekly challenges. One of my absolute favorites is called Smocks On. This group is all about getting crafty with your kids. They want to see the parents getting involved in the projects as well. A couple of weeks ago the challenge was to do art with shapes. I immediately thought of this circle painting project that I had been wanting to do. (more…)

Cow Appreciation Day Ideas

Did you know this year Cow Appreciation Day is Tuesday, July 11th? You may not even know what I am talking about and that is okay! It is one glorious day of the year where you can get a FREE Chick-fil-a Meal! All you have to do is dress up like a cow. That may sound a little crazy but it is actually super easy!

We did this a few years ago. At that point we had a couple of foam cow masks laying around the house. It is crazy the things you end up with when there are children living in your home!

To add to the masks, I took a white shirt that we had and drew cow markings on it with a sharpie marker. (more…)

Rainbow Button Frames

I follow a lot of crafters on Instagram and really enjoy one in particular called “Get Creative With”. Each week is a new challenge to get creative. Last week’s challenge was Get Creative With Buttons. I don’t always participate, but I thought this one would be particularly fun. (more…)

Tape Painting Name Art

Last week I was in Michaels getting the supplies for this project. We enjoyed the rock painting so much, I though it would be fun to do a painting project outside again this weekend. For the past couple of weeks we have had beautiful spring days and I was itching to get outside and enjoy it. Well, the weekend was not as warm and beautiful. I did not let it ruin our plans though. We just had to improvise and set up at the kitchen table. We laid out newspaper over the table and painted away! This project is so much fun and makes a great decoration for a playroom or child’s bedroom. (more…)
