The end of summer is closing in on us! Fortunately, we have done almost everything on our summer bucket list. One of our items was to make nature crafts. I have been wanting to do this bird feeder project for a few weeks now but just hadn’t gotten the supplies. It is so super easy and the kids had a blast making them! (more…)

I am a huge fan of Instagram! I should have known that I would be. I am obsessed with pictures. Not only do I love looking at all the pictures, I love getting all the great ideas! There are a few accounts that I follow that do weekly challenges. One of my absolute favorites is called Smocks On. This group is all about getting crafty with your kids. They want to see the parents getting involved in the projects as well. A couple of weeks ago the challenge was to do art with shapes. I immediately thought of this circle painting project that I had been wanting to do. (more…)
Did you know this year Cow Appreciation Day is Tuesday, July 11th? You may not even know what I am talking about and that is okay! It is one glorious day of the year where you can get a FREE Chick-fil-a Meal! All you have to do is dress up like a cow. That may sound a little crazy but it is actually super easy!
We did this a few years ago. At that point we had a couple of foam cow masks laying around the house. It is crazy the things you end up with when there are children living in your home!
To add to the masks, I took a white shirt that we had and drew cow markings on it with a sharpie marker. (more…)
Do you have leftover valentine cards hanging around in a closet or a drawer? If you are like us, we never use a whole box and then I hate to throw the rest away. This year I decided to re-purpose them into cupcake toppers. (more…)
I follow a lot of crafters on Instagram and really enjoy one in particular called “Get Creative With”. Each week is a new challenge to get creative. Last week’s challenge was Get Creative With Buttons. I don’t always participate, but I thought this one would be particularly fun. (more…)
Last week I was in Michaels getting the supplies for this project. We enjoyed the rock painting so much, I though it would be fun to do a painting project outside again this weekend. For the past couple of weeks we have had beautiful spring days and I was itching to get outside and enjoy it. Well, the weekend was not as warm and beautiful. I did not let it ruin our plans though. We just had to improvise and set up at the kitchen table. We laid out newspaper over the table and painted away! This project is so much fun and makes a great decoration for a playroom or child’s bedroom. (more…)
I went into our Dollar Tree store last week and they had a huge display of Easter goodies! I wanted to do an experiment to see what kind of Easter baskets I could make while just using those $1.00 items. I’m sure you can find lots of great low price items at other stores, but I thought I would try to do everything in one store. (more…)
We have had some beautiful weather lately! Last Saturday, it was such a nice day that we decided to craft outside. Our project that day was rock painting. (more…)
Graylie’s preschool is in the middle of hosting an art auction. I had seen the flyers on the doors and read the emails. I really didn’t know what it was all about. On Monday afternoon when I went to pick her up, all the art was displayed in the lobby. Each classroom was responsible for creating a piece of artwork that would be bid on throughout the week. I have to say I was very impressed! All of the proceeds are going to the charity, Bright Blessings. I loved this idea so much I wanted to share it with you! Here are some pictures of the artwork that was created.
A heart banner is very simple to make. You only need a few basic tools and supplies. If you are already a paper crafter, you probably have everything you need including a stash of paper to choose from. I had picked my paper pack up a few years ago in the Target Dollar Spot. It was after the holiday, so I think it may have cost me fifty cents! (more…)
